About the LG Corporation
LG Electronics was founded in 1958 with revenues over $50 billion in 2019. LG is a large multinational consumer electronic company.
In the early 2000’s LG began researching polycrystalline solar cells, producing its first solar panel. Since then LG has mass produced numerous lines of solar panels in various sizes (residential / commercial) and wattages. Their current generation of NeON 2 and NeON R solar panels carry 25 year product, performance and labor warranties.
LG’s labor warranty is limited to $450 in total over the lifetime of the solar system. LG was recognized by the leading research and consultancy firm Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables as one of the largest US suppliers of solar panels. According to the data from its Q4 2019 PV leaderboard, Panasonic had just over 10% of US residential market.
